We have now passed the 6 month mark of the introduction of the COVID-19 virus into the U.S., and are approaching 200,000 deaths as a result. Mind you, these numbers are suspect as quite a few observations have documented that many deaths that have been attributed to the virus are in fact due to other factors. One recent observation was a young man who was diagnosed as having COVID-19, was asymptomatic and subsequently got into a motorcycle accident and died: the official cause of death? COVID-19. Yes, these numbers are as reliable as the sworn oath of a sumo wrestler to lay off of the all-you-can-eat buffet at Golden Corral.
Our response to 'flatten the curve', in order to keep the plague from overwhelming our hospitals was to shut down the economy. That worked, as far as any reasonable observation can attest. OK. The curve was flattened. Success. Now, politics rears its ugly head, and we now see a red state versus blue state continuation of government intervention of the Wuhan virus.
Red state politicians see the devastation to our once record setting economy that the shutdown has caused, and are easing restrictions, with cautions put forward. Blue state policies? Continue with crushing shutdowns of businesses that are simply wiping out once thriving businesses in their own communities. Red states are opening up, blue states are closing down. It is clear to see that the blue state governors and mayors of Democrat controlled cities see political advantage to keeping people from making a living: apparently, they seem to think that these poor downtrodden constituents will blame their woes on Republicans and particularly Donald Trump in the up coming elections.
News flash for all of you Democrat voters out there who voted in these tyrants who are now telling you that you can't make a living: it's YOUR fault that you are broke if you live in a blue state, county or Democrat controlled large city. The plurality of you and your liberal neighbors who put these power hungry ogres into office deserve the government you elect.
You elected these guys who are now killing your businesses, not your Republican neighbors who were in the minority. Now live with it.
I suspect that come November, there will be a backlash against the political interests of Democrat governors such as Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI), Andrew Cuomo (D-NY), J.B. Pritzker (D-IL) and Gavin Newsome (D-CA). Their once cobalt-blue unassailable majorities may see some cracks.

Last paragraph. I hope.
Fool: I should included your governor, Jared Polis (D-CO) among that rogue's gallery of pinkos, but he doesn't quite have the PR team to get his name out that those other ogres do.
If it weren't for a few republicans, independents and the elderly, I wouldn't much care if all the democrat cities burned to the ground, AS LONG AS THE WACKO'S STAYED PUT and didn't move out and contaminate other areas. Sadly, they probably would.
Polis is one of the many cancer cells dropped into Boulder, CO by rich parents. He promptly dropped their name, Shutz, and started networking with similar cancer cells.
Gorges: I would prefer the miscreants be surgically removed and leave the infrastructure intact. Identify each and every scumbag, interrogate all of them and find out who their leaders are, where they are located and how they are funded. Then track down the financiers of this movement and eliminate them.
That's how I would do it.
Fredd, the blue cities and states will remain blue. You can't fix stupid.
Kid: that's true in the short term. Detroit, America's stupidest city, is losing population every year, has been in bankruptcy for around 10 years now. In the long run, stupid will die out.
Stupid districts depend on money from smart districts. In the long run, smart folk discontinue supporting stupid folk. But it takes awhile.
I'm no expert, but I've never seen such a useless opposition campaign as the Biden/Kammala ticket. They're not even campaigning, just sitting back and watching Dem cities burn and hoping we'll cheer.
Are they after a mail in/fraud victory? Maybe not even that, just looking to set up interference, yet again, for the next 4 years.
I dunno, but all the signs say landslide to me.
Padre: I tend to agree, the opposition efforts to convince American voters that the Democrats are way more able to govern are truly pathetic. What's their message and platform? "Vote for us, we'll keep American burning?" Not exactly what I would urge them to put out there.
I smell landslide, too, despite what the mainstream media is trying to tell us all. Remember this same media told us that there was no path to the presidency for Donald Trump four years ago? Also the same guys told us that Hillary Clinton's odds to win the presidency were 98%?
Their credibility is suspect, unless they are counting on massive malfeasance and skulduggery(two words I cannot stress enough are intertwined with the left) to win the day.
Fredd, I'm with you on this. The Democrat strategy seems flawed -- vote for us or we'll burn your town down and shut all your businesses. And by the way, we hate America.
That doesn't seem to resonate with a lot of people. That it does with some is worrying.
Padre: yes, those American voters who go along with this madness are indeed worrisome. Their numbers seems to be growing, but so far they are still a minority (regardless of what the mainstream media says).
Note the flood of folk out of big cities to the suburbs. In the long run, all the money and sanity will be outside of those cobalt blue areas, and the Detroit-ization of the country will indeed pit 'them' against 'us.' Hence the run on guns and ammo going on lately.
