I've watched several episodes of "Unidentified: Inside America's UFO Investigation," The main characters of the show, Luis Elizondo, Christopher Mellon, John Podesta and others, have convincing evidence that there are indeed unexplained craft in our skies that can accelerate to body pulping G's in fractions of seconds, perhaps in excess of 30,000 mph, and dive into the ocean without so much as a splash. Sonar has tracked one of these craft doing in excess of 70 nautical mph underwater - twice the speed of anything current technology allows.
OK. I'm convinced. This does not seem to be the goal of these guys, however, to convince some tin foil hat guy in Illinois such as myself that they really exist. These UFO's have technology far beyond what has been achieved by the best military scientists in the world. We have chased them, tracked them, and videotaped them. What I don't understand is that the staff of this show seemed to be intent on making aware to everyone watching and in positions of power that these craft are a threat to national security. They move with impunity, and have the technology to completely evade our efforts to intercept them, nor do we have any capability to limit their movements within our defense perimeters.
What exactly do the guys on this show want their audience to do about any of these things? We couldn't possibly shoot them down or destroy them, no way. Yet there they are, year in and year out, with military pilots and intel types having encounters year in and year out with these bogies since the 1950's, or probably even earlier than that. Luis, Christopher and the boys on this show are still asking the question "what if they are hostile? We need to be doing something to mount a defense against this threat, why are we doing nothing?"
The answer clearly is "duh." There is NOTHING we can do about these craft. And they are clearly NOT hostile, and haven't blown up any aircraft or naval vessels, although the odds are very high that they could wipe out a carrier strike group with the push of a button by an alien finger. Or tentacle, or whatever kind of creature that pilot these craft engage their technology with. Maybe even just thought waves. Nobody knows, and if you ask this tin foil hat guy, nobody really needs to care.
If they wanted to wipe us out, they have the technology to wipe us out. Why bother giving any more thought to it? These UFO's have proven so far that they are benign actors, they go out of their way to avoid contact with our military, and mounting a trillion dollar effort to develop weapons that can be brought to bear on these things will certainly amount to not much more than a BB striking the hull of a battleship.
Simply go out and buy a roll of Reynolds Wrap tin foil, fabricate a hat, put it on and you are good to go. No need to spend any more time pondering any of this.

Something of a tangent, but in the same ballpark. My late son, the Medic, was stationed at Dugway Proving Grounds 85 miles SW of SLC for a couple of years. As a Medic, he was cleared to go anywhere. What he told me was, "Dad, there is no alien shit here. There are things you wouldn't believe". That is all he said.
Dugway has tight security. My son and family were required to give security 24 hours notice of any visitors along with the visitor's information. When I visited, he was required to personally come to the gate to see me in.
The commissary had a sign above the door, "Area 52".
You are right in pointing out whatever is out there hasn't proved hostile, so why worry. As a plus, otherwise unemployable people can make a living speculating and stirring the pot.
Maybe they keep to themselves because they know that we want to shoot them down so we can play with their toys.
Fool: just to be on the safe side, I suggest you go out and buy yourself some Reynolds Wrap. I understand that the stuff is like Kryptonite to aliens.
Gorges: we don't have what it takes to shoot them down. All bets are off, however, when they crash. Then we get to play with their broken toys.
I really don't have an opinion either way on these sightings. I have no idea what they might be. I'm with you on the "hostility" aspect, Fredd. All we can really do is continue to observe them.
Doc: yes, we can't help but observe them. Doing anything about it, let's try and ignore that. And remember to wear your tin foil hat, can't hurt.
The distance to he nearest star is 25.3286 Trillion miles.
Critters than can get here in the fraction of their lifespan would not be zooming around our atmosphere in these little pie or cigar shaped dealey-whoppers.
This whole UFO story is either BS or craft built right here at the Skunk Works.
If it ain't BS, then as you say Who Cares ???? We're probably one big reality show on planet XYBFatso-A13 or as it is known to them locally - Heap Big Rock.
I remember years ago some guy claiming to be former air military and who swore that the commercial aircraft were doing that Chem Trail stuff. Radio host (which I agree) said, well if they are then Ok by me because I feel Great.
Kid: all of this UFO stuff is still way above our pay grade. Mounting some kind of defense against it is ridiculous. It's like atheists trying to muster enough troops to fight God.
Move on to something we can effect positively, and waste no more time chasing ghosts.
Agree Fredd. And that sentiment can be applied to many things today. ie the Climate.
Kid: yes, bitching about the weather has gotten nobody nothing ever since bitching about the weather has been going on: forever.
This is a great post, Fredd, thanks..
I've been following the space alien/ufo story for decades and now here it is. They're there and as you say, fortunately don't want to destroy us.
You'd think, given this, that it'd be big news. But no. Nothing, apart from a brief zoom on Tucker. The media seems to think this about as important as Hunter's crack pipe.
Huh.
Padre: as far as I can see, Hunter Biden's crack pipe, his whores and illegitimate children, his malfeasance/skulduggery and general corruption are getting LESS coverage than UFO's, and that's saying something.
