Dumbest ideas making the news

There are lots of dumb ideas floating around, and some are dumber than others.  My pick of the dumbest of the dumb ideas follow:

1.  Pay everybody $70,000.00 annually.  Of course, when Dan Price of Gravity Payments decided that everybody would be happy if all his employees received $70K a year, liberals everywhere declared him brilliant, a thought leader, and his model would be the stuff of Harvard case studies.  3 months later, almost nothing is working out like Dan Price figured it would: his brother who was a principal of Gravity Payments sued the company, many of his clients withdrew their accounts, and lots of higher skills employees quit because the janitor who dropped out of 3rd grade was making the same pay as those who slogged their way through MBA's at the University of Washington.  Who saw this kind of backlash coming? Well, just about everybody who isn't a brain dead liberal did.  Duh.

2.  Make a deal with Iran.  Yes, it is a brilliant move to remove sanctions against the world's leader in exporting terror, freeing up oil sales on the world market, allowing about $150,000,000,000 (that's 150 BILLION dollars annually) to flow into the mullah's coffers; money to fund world-wide terror in perpetuity.  And in an effort to stall the mullahs getting a nuclear weapon, allow only Iranian inspectors to verify nuclear free military sites and report to the world that they are indeed in compliance of the accords.  What kind of morons would do this?  Well, that would be the Obama administration, the smartest people in the world.  Right.

3.  Hillary Clinton decides to use private email servers in her position as U.S. Secretary of State instead of the mandated, relatively secure government servers.  Of course, Hillary is touted as the worlds' smartest woman.  Now the fact that she used these unsecured private servers to process classified TOP SECRET intelligence reports has surfaced.  And these servers were physically located in an unsecured, solitary bathroom in Denver, when we were told by this extremely smart woman (worlds' smartest woman, or so we are told) that she had U.S. Secret Service agents standing guard over these servers night and day.  Right.  The world's smartest woman sure didn't think any of this through.

Lots of dumb ideas out there, ladies and gentlemen.  Lots and lots. I could go on, but I won't.

It may BE a dumb idea, but I'm afraid I don't have any sympathy for people who quit their jobs because their ego can't handle the janitor making the same as they do. Maybe they should do his job!

Well, I planned to leave you a cut and paste spam comment about how you could find Jesus...but changed my mind

Pay everybody $70,000.00 annually. I have a socialist friend who had this idea when he went to China and opened a business. Not $70K but maybe three times the prevailing wage. I laughed at him and he was wounded. I cited the eternal truth contained in the child's book, IF YOU GIVE A MOUSE A COOKIE....time passes....I asked him how that worked out for him. The invective on worker greed and what a dumb decision that was. He's now more conservative than I am. All it took was a dose of reality. Yes, his business failed.

Make a deal with Iran. The $150 billion to build a better terror network, as stupid as it sounds, is NOTHING compared to having them do their own compliance inspection. It's like allowing the Bureau of Printing and Engraving to do their own audit and not check employees leaving for the odd sample of printing plates or currency. Nothing that the Obama Administration does is smart but this one really strains credulity.

Hillary Clinton decides to use private email servers It's pure Hillary. And if we're so stupid as to make her Queen, things will get much worse. She's exceptionally bad.

Gorges: People sacrifice to better themselves and when their sacrifices are not rewarded, of course they get miffed. And that janitor who is making $70K annually for scrubbing toilets after having dropped out of the third grade better take the money and run: any business that pays low skill folk like janitors that kind of scratch will not be in business very long. I would quit, too, knowing that the place is heading into the crapper sooner rather than later.

LL: regarding your comments - duh. Now, about this finding Jesus business, I hear you may have some ideas?

Gorges, Most people working for a firm for some time are making less than they could on the market, but stay out of loyalty or inertia.
Bad management will have them looking.
Ask me how I know...

As for Iran:
"Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court."
"adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort."
How often has Iran chanted Death to America.
Is not Obama releasing to them billions, giving them Aid and Comfort?

Actually, Fredd, you don't know the janitor's story. Assumptions can be very misleading. I once knew a college graduate with great computer skills who dropped out of the corporate world and did building maintenance (and LOVED it).

I'm putting Iran as #1, as it will have disasterous effect for decades if not forever.
Fredd, 150 billion a Year? I thought this was a one time payment. Seriously?
And yea, give iran everything they want and leave 4 Americans to rot there? The words for that have not been invented yet. I'm starting to feel like Major Kong.

The 70K a year guy is actually a good thing. It proves for the 348,982,097,341,100th time that socialism sucks.

And the hildebeast.. how many times has it claimed ignorance in the last year. I don't know about blast walls, I don't know about email. I don't know about the absurdity of having a private server(s). I heard today there were two. SO there's probably more.
Yet the hilrod athletic supporters will use the fact that she's a stupid dumbass -in addition to being a many times over unconvicted criminal mobster- as the perfect reason to stick it in the white house. Well, obama has now created the unspoken requirement for president to being stunningly incompetent.

If it's not Cruz, Walker, Trump or Jindal, then I hope it's sanders. A vertical dive into socialism might just be "a teachable moment".

Jesus is a migrant worker who picks lettuce. His mother is Maria (Mary) and his father is Jose (Joseph). I can find him for you whenever you need him.

Actually, Gorges, you don't know the janitor's story. Assumptions can be very misleading.

I once knew a CEO of a Fortune 500 company who had the world figured out. Then he started using cocaine, then crack, then everything spiraled out of control. He ended up in the gutter swimming in his own puke.

Then he decided to pick himself up by his bootstraps, and he got a job as a janitor.

I don't really know a CEO like this, but the moral of the story is that anecdotal stories prove nothing. Statistics suggest that low skill janitors are not college professors who checked out of the fast lane. Statistics suggest that low skill janitors are cleaning shit out of other people's toilets for one reason only: they have no other skills.

I hope that clears things up for you, Gorges.

LL: that Jesus guy and his parents Jose and Maria better have green cards. And if not, they better not let Donald Trump get wind of their presence here.

Kid:

I think we have already taken our vertical dive into socialism starting in 2009. Nobody likes it. Well, when I say nobody, I mean nobody other than that stupid asswipe Obamaphone lady in Cleveland and her ilk of 50 million losers or so. Other than those hopeless assholes, the rest of us don't like Obamanomics at all.

Bernie has no chance, even if he promises to make that Obamaphone lady in Cleveland and her 50 million other ilk all millionaires, I think they will get out voted by the folks who have jobs. I think we still outnumber the assholes. Hopefully.

Ed:

So you're saying you don't think much of Barry Obama?

I think you nailed the top three.

Good calls. But there are some good ideas out there, like the Bruce Jenner Halloween costume...

Fredd said...

LSP: Bruce Jenner is one demented dude. He was adulated as an Olympic champion, and never got used to being out of the spotlight, so he's back in it, now. Ditto with Mike Tyson, so he tattooed his face. Mylie Cyruss also in that crowd; Hannah Montana crashed and burned, so now she twerks for attention.

Bruce is not alone in his search for attention, lots of ways to get it. Lots and lots.

Z said...

I believe Dan Price had to rent his house out and live somewhere cheaper for that, too.

I can't add much to the post or the comments...but your comment at the end about searches for attention caught my eye; a REALLY dumb idea is a society which idolizes perversion and freaks and situations that should be kept so private.

Fredd said...

Z: yeah, our society is becoming as dumb as a bag of hammers. Most Americans watch Donald Trump interviews not to hear what he has to say on the issues, but rather hoping that his toupee falls off.

You think I'm kidding, but I'm not.

Putting aside the fact that Hillary Clinton is a corrupt liar who is most likely to be indicted rather than assume the Presidency, it is no wonder her dishonesty
