No more subsidizing liberalism with new tax reforms

I am quite tired of supposed rock-ribbed Republicans in high tax states (California, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts..et al) getting in front of any microphone they see and whining about the proposed elimination of the deduction of state and local taxes (SALT) from their federal returns.  Darrell Issa (R-CA) and Peter King (R-NY) are crying foul that the proposed reforms will negatively effect their citizens in these high tax states.

Well duh.  Congressmen Issa and King: fight for your constituents and convince them that lower state and local taxes will benefit them, rather than ignoring this federal welfare that sucks off of the rest of us outside of your districts.  Use this tax hike for the benefit of your state in the long run: lay this increase directly at the feet of those who created it in the first place: liberal local Democrats.  Run on this as a platform for change.  Elect Republicans to reverse these high tax conditions.

Whining about getting rid of the SALT deductions so that your voters can continue to sponge off of their neighboring states is is not a conservative position.  This is not why Republicans are elected - to preserve the subsidization of liberalism.

Voters in these liberal states elect local and state officials who jack up taxes.  These scalawag politicians, however, insist to their constituents that these higher taxes will not affect them, owing to the ability to write them off on their 1040 form.  This is true.  The end result is that this practice is simply mooching off of the rest of the nation; exactly what all liberal politicians run on and are elected and re-elected on.

This is tax welfare, given to liberal state elected officials in return for their local votes.  Enough of this.  If your states vote to jack up state and local taxes, then live with it.  Suck it up.  You voted for it, and don't expect the rest of us to pay for it.

These 'conservative' politicians are assholes.  Start behaving like Republicans and not like jerks.

Most "republican leaders" today are RINO's. The platform is still good, and the rank and file is mostly okay, but big money gets the few GOOD candidates defeated in the primaries. That seems to be changing a little, thank goodness.

Gorges: yes, I think the tide started changing when Dave Brat defeated the majority whip Eric Cantor a few years ago in the Virginia congressional primary. Big money and incumbency didn't help clueless Eric.

That tide continues, but we still have a pus pocket of RINO's that need to go.

Buying votes has been common practice here as it was in Ancient Rome. Bread and circus is the grist on which democrats rule. If people whine about taxes, threaten to eliminate their 'free stuff'. Taking away ObamaPhones or cheese is even considered 'racist' in some quarters.

California, a state that never met a tax it didn't like, is so infected by liberal, socialist ideology that has at its core vote-buying, is particularly odious. Vote buying extends to an "open border" to invite illegal aliens in to vote for the Democrat of their choice... offering them free everything including legal state ID/driver's license. With a supermajority of Democrats in the legislature they can block any corruption investigation before it starts.

Elections have consequences. I'm liking these. After eight years of corruption.

It's unsolvable. It is time to divorce the libtards based on irreconcilable differences and make them create their own country to live in. We'll give them the Northeast and a small slice of Southern California so they can continue to import illegal murderers and rapists to their hearts content. Don't ask us for any money.

What a good post. I especially like the last sentence.

Some argue that lowering taxes in certain states is like ordering bacon sandwich at a Hannukah feast.

LL: this wide spread, universal vote buying has the Founding Fathers spinning in their graves. DeToqueville saw this coming almost two centuries ago, we all poo poo'ed his conclusions, and yet here we are: corruption as far as the eye can see and deficits so deep they seem bottomless.

California is the worst offender, by far. Illinois is relatively benign compared to the corruption in the Golden State. You are making a very wise move in bailing on this toilet of a state before you get too old to do anything about it.

Fool: 'elections have consequences.' Who said that recently? Oh yeah. Barry did. And he was right, for once in his life.

Kid: I think you and I both know that we are coming to a point where liberals and conservatives will no longer be able to consider each other the 'loyal opposition,' but rather a loathed and hated enemy who needs to be destroyed by any means necessary.

The aftermath of this last general election nearly came to that. It's getting worse now, with Chuck and Nancy no longer interested in the well being of the country, but rather only in defeating Republicans. They are completely OK with damaging the country beyond repair, as long as they are in charge of the wreckage.

They need to be defeated, not divorced. Divorce suggests that they will continue to thrive apart from their enemies. This is not the way it's going to be. There will be violence, take that to the bank: somebody will win, and somebody will lose.

Pastor: I appreciate the sentiment you express, even though most would consider this tome a rather tedious expose' on a topic that bores the bejeezus (excuse my French, Padre) out of everybody: taxes.

I like the way you "cut to the chase" in your posts, Fredd. There is so much disinformation about the tax bill roaming about the internet. I'll make my decision when the final bill is tweaked and signed. At that point I will read it (ugh!)

Fredd, Divorce to me means give them their own states, probably 10 or less would do and let them form their own country. At this point they have no affect on us. We purge them like a disease and become rather healthy in a short period of time.
Shore up the constitution
No more public unions
You name your wish list, I think most real conservatives wish lists would be pretty much on par.

The Israelis tried to divorce themselves from those with whom they had irreconcilable differences: the Palestinians. They gave them their own state (Gaza Strip).

How's that working out for them?

Kid, love ya man. But you couldn't be more wrong about this. We can't exist anywhere with these assholes, they will not let us be, not at all. They have to be defeated (their philosophy and their manifestation). They will not stop until they are gone.

Kid said...

Fredd, There is much merit to that idea. I just don't think they can be reformed. I want them gone.

Fredd said...

Kid: me too. And there's no other way than to make them go away than confront them with force. They are resorting to force now, since the strength of their ideas has fizzled. Antifa come to mind?

Additionally, they are behind the Deep State, and when the people's will at the ballot box doesn't suit their agenda, they don't give a shit; they will forge ahead regardless.

FBI? The new guy should completely clean house; fire everybody at the top, leaving only the field agents, and then populate those vacancies with people not known to have an agenda (check their Facebook pages).

Yea Fredd, realistically, they are not going to secede because they are too dependent and we are not because we are too stupid. We'll have to fight it out.
