Lou Dobbs is right: Ryan is the most incompetent Speaker ever

Why Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wi) still has a job is beyond me.  This is the guy who personally scuttled the efforts of the Trump administration to repeal Obamacare.

Lou Dobbs, financial analyst on Fox Business channel, ever the Ryan detractor, has nothing good to say about Ryan.  Lou can point to absolutely nothing that Paul Ryan has ever accomplished, other than to get elected in backwater Wisconsin several times, tapped for Veep by Mitt Romney in his failed presidential run in 2012, and reluctantly accepted the Speaker's gavel (which he now refuses to give up).

Paul Ryan has legislatively opposed every initiative that Donald Trump has proposed, and is actively encouraging the Freedom Caucus, those renegade Republicans in the House who will vote down any bill that is not perfect.

And of course, no bill is ever perfect, so we can count on the Freedom Caucus to scuttle every effort President Trump advances. With Ryan in the Speaker's chair, Trump's presidency will struggle to get anything done.  Ryan is in his heart of hearts a Never-Trumper who continues the fight to bring Donald Trump down.

This guy has got to go.

Speaker Ryan hated Donald Trump from the get-go and had very harsh words for candidate Trump. Now he's President Trump, Ryan still harbors the notion (that Mitt put into his head) that he'd be a better president. But he's still that guy from a jerk-water town in Wisconsin whose not ready for prime time.

Naturally, the inactivity on the part of the House will lead to them losing seats as the base is disenchanted with the swamp and starts trying out Democrats to see if they (led by Nancy Pelosi - who needs to shed that hideous mask she wears) will do any better. But they're infinitely worse.

We'll see how well The Donald can herd these cats, but Paul Ryan is dead set against any herding efforts. He's touted himself as the best deal maker ever, but so far he's convinced nobody except Ivanka and Eric Trump of that reputation.

Time for heads to roll, if you ask me. Draining the swamp requires killing a frog or two.

I don't think that Ryan is lazy, but as with most politicians now in office, it would have been better if he'd done something other than go to college and then straight into politics. I realize that he had a few low level jobs, but the Rex Tillersons of this world are the sort of people who need to be like Cincinatus, lay down the plow and serve a few years in elected office and then go back to work.

I agree with Lou Dobbs. I didn't like Ryan from the moment he replaced the equally worthless Boehner.

And I have no doubt that he will drag his feet on everything put to the House. I would like all their pay stopped until they start working for the American People.

And it is way past time for Trump to drain the swamp.

I don't trust McConnell, either.

Ryan is the swamp. He has never had a job outside Congress. Before being elected he was a congressional aide.

Ryan is the swamp. Went from congressional aide to congressman. Never had a job in the private sector.

LindaG: unfortunately, the only ones who control congressional salaries are congress. Same reason term limits will never fly with these guys, either. We The People oughtta do something about this state of affairs. Too bad about all swamps: the aligators call all the shots. Draining it doesn't square with their goals (bigger gooier swamps).

Fool: I used to think Paul Ryan was a lot like Mr. Smith, who went to Washington all these decades ago. Wrong.

Gorges: I still commend Sen. McConnell for keeping Scalia's SCOTUS seat open for a year. He took a lot of heat for it, and held firm. Good for him. Not that he's a choir boy, but in this regard he did good.

LL: term limits would fix the woes stemming from career politicians squatting in their incumbent seats for decades, and getting all corrupted by the never ending caviar, chateau briand dinners and lobster (all on the tax payer's dime). A guy could get used to it....
