VA 'death list' scandal: this is our future, folks

An honorably discharged U.S. Army veteran walks into the VA Hospital closest to where he lives to deal with a chronic medical problem he has been ignoring, but now ignoring it is no longer an option.  He is greeted by a grumpy receptionist after waiting in the lobby for maybe 15 minutes.  Not too bad, but this is as good as it gets for this guy.

The grumpy receptionist shoves a stack of forms for the guy to fill out, and demands two pieces of photo I.D.  He only has his driver's license on him.  'Tough,' says the grump.  'Go get one more.  NEXT!'

The guy comes back later on that afternoon with an additional photo ID, waits another 15 minutes to speak to the same grumpy receptionist.  When he is finally 'greeted', she acts like she had never seen the guy before in her life.  He explains that he had been in earlier, and was only missing an additional piece of photo ID.  The grump then shoves the exact same pile of forms to the guy, who tells her that he already filled them out earlier.  The grump threatens to send him to the back of the line unless he shuts up and fills out the damn forms.  Again.

And so it goes.  This is our government at work, and in this case its in the health care industry.  Wherever the government interacts with the public, this is the way things work.  There is no joy, no patience and no common sense.  It is government at its worst.

Obamacare now looms over us.  While the government is not yet directly involved in the actual care, but rather only the paperwork, we are in for an initial shock as to the nature of government workers in their natural habitat: a cubicle where they are immune from criticism of bad performance, exempt from common courtesy and entrenched in their position to the point that they are virtually free from performance accountability.

Just wait until Obamacare is perverted inexorably into government paid health care providers.  What you will have then is what we all see in the Phoenix VA hospital.

Monsters who care not a whit whether their charges live or die, monsters who only care about their performance bonuses and incentives, doing the right thing be damned in their pursuit of a few bucks.

We all see what these government workers chose to do to these poor retches who wandered into their lobbies, seeking treatment to potentially life threatening conditions: they chose to put their care into limbo, fudge the books and subsequently collect their bonuses for meeting performance objectives while these veterans languished on phony waiting lists and then ultimately perished.

This VA scandal is the tip of the iceberg, I am afraid.  We are all in for this kind of poor service once Obamacare morphs into what we all know it will: another government office just like the DMV or the VA.  Full of low performing scumbags who doesn't really care whether you live or die.

This is our future, folks, unless we open our eyes.

Good summation Fredd. It's going to be evil for sure.

Too many dependent and ignorant running around.

"...to many dependent and ignorant (add morons here) running around."

The word is out, now, Kid. We have an old guard Republican gang that has no more interest in sealing our southern border than Democrats, and most everyone in the world who wants to come here and mooch off of hard working Americans' tax money are already packing their bags.

You think there are too many dependent morons now: just wait until Obamacare kicks in, those illegals will ABSOLUTELY LOVE the VA-style care (or lack thereof) that is in store for Americans (and illegals). Where they came from, that kind of lousy care is far and away better than they have ever had in their wretched lives.

You think I am exaggerating, but I am not.

I sure don't see any exaggerations. It is going to be worse that Both of us imagine.

Kid:

Those with any kind of resources to speak of will simply pay cash for medical services, since most respectable doctors will just opt out of Obama's social madness.

Free health care for everybody, well, everybody that is poor. Milton Friedman's 'no such thing as a free lunch' doesn't resonate with liberals. Once they see what kind of care they get for 'free,' then what?

Just wait, Kid, for the poop to hit the fan once our existing system (such as it is, the best available in the world) is wrecked beyond repair.

It will be Obama's legacy and he still thinks history will judge him the same way it judged FDR: a hero.

Wrong, so wrong. Too bad I won't live to see the truth finally told about this community organizer and what he foisted on us.

That's a very sane prediction Fredd.

I don't think much of anybody of any political persuasion who can't make the connection for lousy VA hospital care to the ACA.

I will say that lots of vets DO say they get/got good care, but the huge amount of vets who are complaining, and the stories we're hearing from whistle blowers are real and painful...and condemn the Obama bunch.

He was told in 2008!
"But 2008," the left say! "So it's Bush's fault!" Ya, and he did a lot about it, apparently...but not enough...Obama only said he would.

If we've heard that once, we've heard it a thousand times: "Obama said..."

He said he would accept public campaign funds in 2007. He lied.
He said he would cut the deficit in half. It has tripled. He lied.
He said his would be the most transparent administration ever. It is the most opaque: he lied.
He said there's not a smidgeon of corruption at the IRS. He lied.
He said he would close Gitmo. He lied (well, glad he lied on that).
He said if we liked out plan, we could keep our plan. Period. He lied.
He said if we liked our doctor, we could keep our doctor. Period. He lied.
He said he would help our vets get the medical care they deserved.

Guess what: he lied, yet again.

Summation: Obama's credibility is somewhat suspect.

PS: I forgot about all the Benghazi lies.

I think we can list lies from now till the cow's come home, Fredd!
sadly.
And where is an American media which SHOULD be ever vigilant?
Sad, isn't it? Almost scary, considering this is how dictators got their feet up; a media which wouldn't dare disagree or actually investigate anything!
